Job Summary
The Manager, Research Data and Analysis, Asia Pacific will be responsible for managing, collecting, analyzing, and communicating both primary and secondary data for the Asia-Pacific region. This position will also support the Market Research function by designing and implementing research studies that will develop new data for the organization; the strategy function by developing unique insights through proactive analysis; and other functions within Asia Pacific to receive customized data analysis and reporting. The objectives of this position will be to improve the management of data quality, handling, and availability of data within Asia Pacific; increase analysis and reporting using Siebel software to support effective business decisions; improve the speed and consistency of data dissemination to internal and external constituents; and empower all functions within Asia-Pacific with increased data and analytical support. The position will be headquartered in Hong Kong and w
ill report to the Director, Strategy and Market Research, Asia Pacific.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Management â€" Accountable for the management of both internal and external data available to CFA Institute for business analysis and research in Asia-Pacific
Use Siebel and Siebel-Analytics software for successful data management and reporting practices
Verify data for press releases, presentations (e.g., speeches, CFA Program presentations, etc.), CFA Institute website (e.g., Facts and Statistics page), ERNIE, marketing collateral (e.g., fact sheets, brochures, etc.), and any other requests
Collaborate with Key Stakeholder Services (i.e. APO-Contact Center) on data related questions, analysis, and communication
Collaborate with IT to identify and communicate enhancements in data integrity
Support IT by acting as data Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various IT projects relating to data quality and reporting
Develop and maintain new data points derived from known data
Support collection, integration, and dissemination of external data
Support management of data collected through primary and secondary research
Analysis and Reporting â€" Accountable for data analysis and reporting for CFA Institute initiatives in Asia Pacific
Accountable for creating demographic profiles and statistics on members and candidates by geographic segment on an ad hoc basis
Accountable for the analysis of candidate and member behaviors using internal data
Accountable for analysis of candidate and member trends
Provide charting and GIS-mapping of data
Collaborate with the Market Research and Business Analysis functions on the analysis of new Level I demand
Accountable for statistical techniques in sampling, regression, and basic statistical testing
Communication and Dissemination â€" Manage the communication and dissemination both internally and externally related to CFA Institute data in Asia Pacific
Provide data requests for communication lists (e.g. e-mail lists)
Accountable for the ‘Market Research Inbox’ during Asia-Pacific working hours and handling of all data requests that impact the Asia-Pacific region
Accountable for the ‘Data Policy’ for accurate dissemination of data that adheres to privacy policies and maintains competitive intelligence
Accountable for timely sharing of key internal and external data analysis and research within Asia-Pacific office
Responsible for developing visual aids (charts, etc.) that represent complex data into easily comprehensible items
Responsible for internal and external communication and sharing of data within the Asia-Pacific region
Data Analysis Support â€" Support the research, strategy, and all business functions within Asia Pacific to support all data needs
Collaborate with the research function within Asia Pacific to assist with the collection, management, analysis, and communication of primary and secondary research
Collaborate with the strategy function within Asia-Pacific to assist with proactive analysis of data to uncover insightful perspectives that would inform the strategic direction of the Asia-Pacific office
Collaborate with all functions in the Asia-Pacific to support their data analysis requests
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field required
Minimum two to five years experience in professional working environment
Fluency in English required
Strong working knowledge of database software
Strong working knowledge of standard office software, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Experience in a multinational environment is an advantage
Global cultural orientation and working experience
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus
Familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS or SAS a plus
Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
Very high level of organizational and time management skills
Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations
Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills
Willingness to ask questions rather than just follow directions is required
Possess understanding and experience using statistics and other quantitative techniques
