Part of Technology and Innovation, Project Development and Implementation (PDI) is the centralised group responsible for partnering with Product Groups (PGs) and Business Units (BUs) to successfully deliver major capital projects (projects greater than $250m). PDI includes a Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for developing, promoting, and supporting the implementation of the processes, standards and tools for projects. It also includes a series of regional and commodity based Project Delivery Hubs responsible for the delivery of projects. An exciting opportunity exists for a General Manager Engineering to provide functional and technical leadership in the development and implementation of projects. With a focus on successful collaborative relationships with the owners team, the EPCM and other stakeholders, along with consistently good engineering practices across the project, this role will be both challenging and rewarding. You will be responsible for suggesting
and implementing changes to engineering systems and procedures and for providing strategic input into the PMO and PDI Hubs on engineering and equipment standards. A key component of the role will be on maintaining a full understanding of the relationship between business and project directives as well technology and embedding this within the project groups. With a degree in engineering, you will have significant experience in engineering design along with additional qualifications in project management and/or engineering management. With on site experience in maintenance, operations or construction you will have a demonstrated understanding of project initiatives and approval processes. You will also have experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams as part of major projects, managing projects of the sub billion dollar size and proven understanding and leadership ability in the development of engineering technology and applications.
