Job Summary
The Field Engineer/Project Engineer is responsible for providing hardware and software technical support to all Harris Broadcast customers. This position will assist with the onsite commissioning and installation of our products, as well as, providing technical support per the rota phone system and/or email. This role will require the individual to review and implement system/workflow designs, assess âœout of boxâ quality of delivered products, coordinate logistics of replacement parts as needed to ensure a timely and successful closure of assigned jobs, and provide follow up documentation at the completion of the job. Will also interact with Sales, Engineering, System Integrators and other Service representatives to address issues to help drive jobs to success.
Focus on broadcast products to include: video servers, non-linear news editing, video and audio routers, master control systems, video graphics systems, networking solutions, and modular infrastructure equipment.
Job Description
ï‚· Ensure technical support for all hardware and software products.
ï‚· Track and report on all customer situation/issues using defined tools such as Siebel and DEVtrac.
ï‚· Work together with local sales team on system proposals.
ï‚· Support projects as assigned and ensure successful implementation.
ï‚· Establish and maintain good working relations with customers. Raise critical issues to service manager and project manager.
ï‚· Define potential product and/or customer application quality issues. Help to resolve those via call centre, field engineering or cross function team.
ï‚· Work together with other field engineers within the group.
ï‚· Have an open eye. Provide information on possible sales opportunities.
ï‚· Required to be part of the 24x7 on-call support roster.
Qualifications
ï‚· Requires a 2 year technical degree or equivalent in Broadcast, Networking or Systems Integration.
ï‚· 3+ years of experience in Broadcast engineering role.
ï‚· 3-5+ years of experience in Design engineering role.
ï‚·5-8 years experience trouble shooting/diagnosing issues.
ï‚· Must have exceptional organizational skills and be able to multitask.
ï‚· Must have strong follow-up and administration skills.
Preferred Additional Skills
ï‚· Must be extremely customer focused.
ï‚· Must be flexible and easily able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
ï‚· Have sound broadcast knowledge.
ï‚· Provide training on various products when required.
ï‚· Assist operationally on more complex installations.
